About Us

Lakeside Services is owned by Pete and Deborah Cox, who co-founded the company with another family in 2004. Pete was a cadet at Texas A&M University, and graduated in 1992. He previously worked in project management for Chemonics International, an international development company working under contract for the US Agency for International Development. Deborah graduated from the University of Virginia in 1991, and previously worked for The Fund for American Studies in Washington, DC. They reside in Hurt Virginia with their three children.

Lakeside Services started out in 2004 by providing landscaping services and trash collection at several neighborhoods around Leesville Lake. We branched out into dock building in 2005, bought-out the other founders in 2006, and then dropped the landscaping functions to focus on dock building and rip-rap erosion control. We acquired a 30’ x 40’ sectional barge and amphibious crane in 2008, which expanded our capabilities tremendously. With the new heavy equipment, we were able to expand our dock building capabilities through pile driving, and could then offer a wide range of barge services. With our barge, we are now able to move heavy equipment around the lake for other contractors, pull large floating debris out of the lake for the Leesville Lake Association, and to do rip-rap from the barge without having to clear a path down the hill, or worry about the equipment sliding down the hill and into the water! We are now pleased to offer Marine Innovations incline elevators along with our other premium products. Why walk down flight after flight of stairs, when you can simply push a button and arrive at the bottom. Forget the boat key? No problem, just ride back to the house and get it. Totally cool…
